So I went on You Tube and watched David Tennant on NMTB.  After doing that, I went back and watched John Barrowman on there.  Then I found Michael Ball.  Then I went back and watched series 19-22, the Amstell years.  The question I pose to my friends in England that watch Buzzcocks is should I watch the pre-Amstell years?  I like Simon and I'm not sure if I would like the previous host as much.

You did what I did! You might want to check out the two eps that SA was a guest on - or was it one ep, and he was a guest host once? Anyway, there are two of them, though I can't remember which ones offhand. If you google NMtB though, you'll find a list of hosts/guests somewhere, cos that was how I found it. I've not bothered with the non-SA ones, though I like Noel Fielding alot... but I liked Bill Bailey on it too, so...

Anyway, I'd say try the non-SA years on YouTube, watch a couple - if you don't like them, stop watching. *g*

I did find the one where Simon was a guest and the one where he guest hosted. Also found the one where Jeremy Clarkson guest hosted. That one was good. I do like Noel Fielding. When Bill Bailey decided to leave, Noel was a good replacement.

I'll give the non-SA years a shot. See what the other host was like. If nothing else, it'll still have Phil Jupitus and Bill Bailey.

I actually preferred Mark Lamarr to Simon Amstell, he did deadpan and put upon soooo much better.

I watched the Buzzcocks where Simon was the guest and Mark was the host. It was the quietest I'd ever seen Simon on Buzzcocks. Did anyone walk off on Mark or did that just happen to Simon?
