Just when I think my former employer can't screw me over any more, I get the decision from the unemployment board.  They decided I'm not entitled to my benefits and I have to pay them $1500 back in 45 days or they'll hold any benefits I'm entitled to in the future.  Good luck getting that money since I DON"T HAVE A JOB!

I'm so sorry! That is just so stupid. They have to understand that you can't return it.

Right now it's just going with the pile of other bills I can't pay right now. We'll see what happens.

A friend who was having problems with getting her unemployment says that she contacted her representative and it helped kick-start her claim.

She also thinks you could take the letter to the unemployment office for more information. That makes me nervous, though.

Take care.

The thing is, this was done based on the appeal the company made. I'm too fed up to fight them. I didn't want to fight them in the first place.

Bottom line is the company I used to work for is too cheap to give a crap and would rather screw over their former employees than let them collect their well earned unemployment. I'm not the first one they did it to. And I probably won't be the last.

Thanks. All and all, I am glad I don't work there any more. I just wish I could have left on my own terms.
