So my friend has to have his application and payment in for his State Medical Board test for Massage Therapy by 5:00 pm on September 1st.  Shouldn't be a problem right?  Especially since he's known about it for a month.  HA!

He had me sign an affidavit stating that I had known him for at least six months and that he was a good person on Wednesday.  Had it notarized yesterday.  Didn't realize that the person has to be present when their signature is notarized.   He had another find sign the other one for him, but alas she lives on the other side of town and he can't get in touch with her to meet him at the notary.

So now he has to get another friend to meet him at the bank on Monday to get her to sign a new form and get it notarized.  This means there is no way he can put this in the mail.  So we have to drive down to Columbus Tuesday to personally drop it off at the State Medical Board office.

Why do I have to go, you might ask.  Because he has class that night and if he drove all the way to Columbus and back and then drove to school, he'd probably get in a wreck because he fell asleep at the wheel or something.  It's a two and a half hour drive to Columbus, another two and a half hours back and he has to be in class at like 5.

Of course the paperwork has to be in the State Medical Board office by 5.  If this job comes through and I have to work Tuesday, his mother has to drive him down.

They have deadlines for a reason.  I can't believe he let this wait until the extreme last minute and now he's got to scramble to get this done.  If he doesn't get this in the office by Tuesday at 5 he has to wait till next June to take the test.

I asked him when he found out about it because I thought he only knew for a week or so. When he told me he'd known about it for a month, I was floored. I can't understand why he put off something so important to the last minute.
