If the end of Day 4 upset me, Day 5 has gutted me.

I said before that I hated to see children being used like this.  I still do.  To find out that the 456 is using them to get high just disgusted me.  Then for the Prime Minister to order Frobisher to turn over his children after he had assured him that they would be left alone.  Frobisher did the only thing he thought he could.  He killed his family and himself.  I would rather die than sacrifice children like this.

As if killing Ianto and having him die in Jack's arms wasn't heartwrenching enough for the viewer and for Jack, RTD had to take it that one step further.  The only way to save the kids and the planet was to tap into that signal.  Fine, whatever, but they could have found a way to do it on the computer before time was up.  There didn't have to be that ultimate sacrfiice.  To make Jack sacrfice his own grandson broke him.  When you take what happened to Ianto and add to it what happened to Steven, you leave Jack as a broken man.  He has reached his limit.  Mankind has managed to do what the Master couldn't.

The scene on the hillside just made me a little more mad at Gwen.  She knew Jack was broken.  She knew he needed time to come to terms with everything that had happened.  Six months wasn't going to be enough.  She begged him, in front of Rhys, to stay for her.  How selfish can she be?  She's pregnant with Rhys's child and all she can think about is that Jack is leaving her.  She's not thinking about what Jack needs.  Or the pain he's going through.  This is one of the reasons I don't like her character.

As far as season 4 of Torchwood is conscerned, I hope they don't make one.  Because as much as I love John Barrowman, I don't think I could stomach it.  And if he's not invovled as a regular cast member, I know I couldn't stomach a Gwen led show.  RTD has lost a fan.
