The news that Farrah Fawcett had passed away was not something that surprised me because she had been so sick.  I grew up watching Charlie's Angels.  I had a Charlie's Angels lunch box when I started 1st grade.  Farrah, Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd were always welcome in my home.  In fact, because my parents were such a big fan of hers from The Rookies and Dark Shadows, I was named after Kate. So to hear that Farrah, one of the icons from my childhood, had passed away saddended me.

Then a short three or four hours later we learned that another icon of my growing up years had collapsed and subsequently died.  Michael Jackson had apparently died of a heart attack.  I was shocked by this.  Even though I don't think he was in the best of health, I didn't expect a 50 year old man do die so suddenly.  I was 9 years old when Thriller came out.  It was my favorite album at the time.  I loved Beat It, Thriller, Billy Jean and later Say Say Say.  I am not saying I was a be all end all Michael Jackson fan, but I did enjoy a lot of his music.  Yes, he did engage in strange behavior, but he was a faboulus preformer and he will be missed.

Rest in peace Farrah.  Rest in peace Michael.  You both have earned it and you both left way too soon.
