John Barrowman has ruptured all the ligaments in his ankle and cannot attend Torchsong this weekend. Now, I knew when I found out about Torchsong that I wasn't going to be able to go, so I'm not disappointed by this news. My first thoughts were I hope he's going to be all right. Then I thought that he is probably going to drive Scott crazy while he recovers. I mean seriously, can you see John staying still for as long as it takes for his ankle to recover? Scott's going to need a drink or two, and a vacation.

The messages I've seen on John's offical list have been concern for him and his recovery. The comments I've seen on Livejournal have been whining about the money people are out. Like I said, I'm not going to Torchsong, so I'm not out any money. If I was, however, I would probably wonder if they were going to reschedule the con or refund the money. Either way would work for me. Of course my top priority would be John and his recovery and sending my best wishes and thoughts to John and Scott.

If I have offeneded anyone, I'm sorry. This is my opinion.  It's not everyone's opinion but that's part of the fun of livejournal.

Oh poor John! That would be so painful. Hope he can sit still long enough to heal quickly.

As for those complaining about money..... Phfft! I agree with you about rescheduling and that's what those whiners sould be asking.

My friend and I are wondering how long it takes for him to start driving poor Scott crazy. And here's hoping he doesn't need surgery.

The con just announced that they're setting up a video link so that John can still participate. Hope that settles down the ones complaining.

A video link sounds like a good compromise. Not the same as seeing him in person, but.....

Yep, it should work. Especially since he's still going to try to do some sort of cabaret like he had planned.
