So, I have this temp to hire job now. It pays $8 an hour, it's 40 minutes away, and it's 2nd shift. Here's the thing, I got an e-mail from one of the staffing agencies I went to about a job that's about the same distance away, but it's $10 an hour. So I e-mailed the lady at the staffing agency to submit my resume if it's not too late.

Here's the problem. The people at the place I'm working at have been good to me. They found a job for me after they had run out of things for me to do for the really temp job they had given me. That sentence didn't make any sense.

The point is, I need to be making $10 an hour. I need to get back on days. I want this job to work out but I feel guilty about possibly leaving the other place.

Don't you love decisions?

You have to do what is right for you. Thank you, but no thank you. You have appreciated your time however, a better offer has come along. Honesty always pays.

Yeah, that's a good point. I don't want to burn any bridges and honesty would help avoid that.

I know I rarely comment if at all :)

But on this - they would understand the need for a better shift and pay. The fact they did help get you something is wonderful and means you'll have great respect for them and they in turn should have enough for you to understand that closer, better pay and a decent shift is what you need.

Just something i've learned or dealt with over the years of either having temps or working as one.

Thanks. This really is all new for me. I won't say anything to them, though, until I know about the other job.
