Went to see Eric Clapton tonight. First I must rant about the venue. I have been to this venue before and have always been able to used regular lawn chairs. I had to ditch my old lawn chairs and had just purchased new ones. Get to the venue and head inside and am promptly informed that we can't bring the lawn chairs inside. You can only have lawn chairs that are two inches off the ground. WTF. This is apparently a new rule that was just implemented this year. So, my one friend and her son stayed at the check in while my other friend and I made the trek back to the car with the lawn chairs. Now would be a good time to mention that he can't take his back pack in, but the guy at the gate never said a word. Even though he was shown the contents of the back pack as part of the security check. So we trek all the way back to the car and then back to the gate. Then the guy at the gate mentions something about the back pack. He's like Oh, didn't I say something before. We're like no you didn't. At this point, I am ready to sell the tickets to the guy looking for seats and go home.
Anyway, we went inside and found seats, and rented lawn chairs. (don't get me started on that.)
Clapton did a lot of jazzy/bluesy stuff, then he saved three classics for the end. He started that bit with Wonderful Tonight. Then the crowd jumped to their feet when he started Layla and then he went into Cocaine. So all I can say is Mr. Clapton, you were Wonderful Tonight.
Oh, and I'm never going to that venue again, I don't care who's there.
