I was coming home from work today and I was in the right hand lane.  There was an 18 wheeler in the left hand lane.  I was already weary of this guy as we were coming around some curves and he was slightly over the line into my lane.  Then when the road straightened back out, he just comes on over.  He almost ran over me!  I had to brake fast.  If I hadn't, he would have hit me and totaled my car, if he hadn't killed me in the process.  I didn't have anywhere to go.  I braked, he got into the lane, and I continued to drive, although I was very shaken.  I was hesitant to try to pass him again.  When he went to get on the interstate, I noticed he was on his cell phone.  Go figure.  I thought about stopping in the Sam's Club parking lot so I could calm down, but I knew that once I stopped driving I wouldn't be able to start again,  I got home and had a good sob in the driveway, then I came in and basically haven't been able to stop shaking.  I told my roommate if we go anywhere tonight, she's driving.

::: HUGS :::

That would have been terrifying. If you had someone else in the car with you they could have written down the number plate and you could have reported this person to the police.

It was very terrifying. I did manage to see the name on the cargo container of the truck. But the driver might have been an independent contractor. I've had a Mojito now so I'm starting to calm down.

It's a lovely little rum based beverage with lime and mint. Some places serve it with a sugar cane in it like a stir stick.

Thank you. I am now thinking Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry ... James Bond.

Damn huge trucks think they own the road. A really terrifying experience for you. Just as well you could brake enough to keep out of his way and it was good thinking to keep going on home, then fall apart once you arrived. ::Hugs::

Fall apart I did. I think it took me a few hours to stop shaking. Getting back behind the wheel is going to be interesting.
