Harper's Island Finale

Okay maybe I saw it coming and the spoilers weren't as bad as the spoilers I was exposed to for Torchwood.  But they were still spoilers! <G>

Anyway, I think it was very brave of Sully and Danny to lure Wakefield out so they could capture him.  I should have known that it wasn't a good idea to leave him tied up in belts and not put cuffs on him when they got him to the jail.  Jimmy was yet another red herring.  I kinda figured that and was glad to see it was true.  I did like that Trish was the one who found the boathouse and radio.  In her own way, she did help save her sister and niece.

And how heroic was Danny?!  He was terrified of Wakefield, but he took the psycho on so that Madison and Shea could get out and get to safety.  Then Sully proved how much he had grown since all of this started by putting them on the boat and sending them back to Seattle while he stayed to help his friends.

I know that Trish needed to put dry clothes on.  And I know she pulled a blouse and a pair of jeans out of her suitcase.  I don't, however, understand why she put her wedding dress on.  That just didn't make sense to me.  Except I guess the writers thought it would be neat for her to run through the woods in her wedding dress.  And when did Henry put his sweater back on?  I might have missed it, but when he left their room he just had the t-shirt on, then when Trish found him in the woods, the sweater was back on.

And now we come to Henry as Wakefield's kid.  I have to admit, this is what I kinda saw coming.  I knew it had to be someone on the boat that put Cousin Ben on the propeller.  In my opinion, that narrowed it down to Henry, Trish and Abby.  I didn't think it was Trish because I didn't think she could put Ben under the boat and attach him to the propeller.  I didn't think it was Abby because that just didn't make sense.  That left Henry.

He was such a good guy, it was like the writers set him up to be the second killer.  Of course, second killer might be overstating.  I think he was probably the first killer and Wakefield just sat back and watched his boy.  As far as I can tell Wakefield took out the deputies and the people we actually saw him kill, like Nikki, Shane, Cal and Danny.  Otherwise it was his darling son.  Of course Henry's reason for all of this is kinda creepy.  He wanted to be with his sister forever.  I know I don't mind Wincest, but this might be a little too much.

And give him props for planning this whole thing.  He had to have been planning this for a couple of years.  He romanced Trish so he could get her to fall in love with him.  He proposed to her so he could get Abby back on the island.  He killed his uncle to see what his friend would do with the money.  Very well planned.

Four people made it off the island.  They were four of the people I thought would make it off the island.  I just thought that Trish and Henry would have made it to live happily ever after as well.  Shows you what I know.
