Last night, I was almost home from work when a deer jumped out in front of my car.  I hit the brake but didn't stop in time and wound up hitting the darn thing.  I don't know what happened to the deer.  It was well off the side of the road and it was dark.  Thankfully, I drive a Ford Escape and the most that needs to be done is the bumper needs to come back up a little.  If I had still been driving my Escort, I wouldn't have a car any more. And it's possible I might have been spending Thanksgiving in the hospital!

You should have looked for the deer.......it would have made a good alternative to turkey on the dinner table ;).

Happy thanksgiving.

Happy thanksgiving.

That would have been very scary!! Quite a heart stopping moment. Thank heavens you were not hurt, but it would still have made you very shaky.

Your icon says it all. :))

Oh yeah, it was scary. I know I was glad I was really close to home when it happened.

That's really scary! Luckily you weren't hurt!

We have deer here in my community and last month I had two of them jump out in front of me. The road I was driving on was quite bumpy, so thank goodness I wasn't driving very fast and was able to stop in time before hitting one of them. Still scared the crap out of me, tho!

Thanks.

I got a good look at the car today and the front bumper is cracked. I thought it was just off the one bolt. I have to call the insurance company to see if it's covered and the dealership to see if the extended service package I bought covers body work. But at least it's not body that has to be fixed.
